About Us

The S’TEṈISTOLW̱ logo was designed by ɁUu-Kwa-Qum (James Swan). We gratefully acknowledge his ongoing generosity in allowing us to share and engage with his artwork.

S’TEṈISTOLW̱ is a SENĆOŦEN term referencing the concept of ‘moving forward.’ It was given to us by STOLȻEȽ (John Elliott), respected Elder and knowledge-keeper of the Tsartlip First Nation, instructor at ȽÁU,WELṈEW Tribal School and in the Indigenous Studies Program at Camosun College.

S’TEṈISTOLW̱ 2024 is expected to welcome hundreds of delegates including educators, administrators, community leaders, scholars, and allies in the field of Indigenous adult and post-secondary education. The conference is unique in that it focuses on applied learning and is aimed at practitioners, scholars, and community leaders in the field. Camosun previously hosted the conference in 2017, and this year’s schedule expands to four days, with a cultural pre-conference day held at the Songhees Wellness Centre followed by three full days of activities at Camosun’s Lansdowne campus. New this year is a marketplace, where exhibitors and Indigenous artists can sell their work.
